Mountains to Seas Inanga Spawning Project

Mountains to Sea is an environmental organisation supporting community-led conservation and freshwater restoration across Aotearoa. Together, we facilitated a collaborative hui at Karetu Marae, bringing together hapū, community groups, and government agencies to shape the future of the Inanga spawning project.

The wānanga focused on creating a shared vision and framework for national expansion while upholding kaitiakitanga, data sovereignty, and environmental stewardship. The outcome was a co-created pathway for growth, with clear next steps and shared actions to guide the kaupapa forward.
