Hillary Outdoors is an outdoor education provider dedicated to developing youth through adventure-based learning. In partnership with Ngāti Hikairo, a two-day wānanga was facilitated under the watchful guidance of Maunga Ruapehu to strengthen the partnership, build shared understanding, and explore what it means for Māori to participate as Māori at Hillary Outdoors. The outcome was a co-designed draft Strategic Plan, including a shared vision, ngā pou (strategic objectives), and ngā hua (measures of success) – setting a strong foundation for a culturally responsive future.
