Te Awakairangi Kōhanga Reo was the very first place I tested my strategic planning approach - my own son’s kōhanga at the time – and I’ll always be grateful for that humble beginning. In 2021, we held a one-day wānanga to reflect on our whakapapa, reconnect with our moemoeā, and pave a clear path forward for the future of the kōhanga. In the room were kaiako, whānau, and our beautiful Nanny who had helped establish the very first kōhanga reo in Aotearoa, making the experience even more special.
For many, it was the first time they had been part of a strategic planning process, but together, we surfaced our shared aspirations and co-designed a set of Pou to guide our direction. That wānanga gave me the belief that I had something powerful to offer – and shortly after, AraHina Facilitation Consultancy was born.
